Tali: I received my Ph.D. in English Literature from The Graduate School and University Center. My dissertation, entitled “Dicky Birds that Never Die: Father Substitutes in Victorian and Edwardian Children’s Literature,” won the Children’s Literature Association’s Hannah Beiter Research Grant. I am an Assistant Professor at BMCC-CUNY, where I teach children's literature and writing. I am also the co-director of the Children's Studies Faculty Forum.
